Tommy
Tommy was barely two pounds when he was found beat up and broken looking for food behind a Taco Bell. We were asked if we could help by taking him in since he was so small and vulnerable to the elements, of course we said yes. His vet visit revealed he had definitely fought for his life and came through with a broken leg, damaged ear and almost lost a toe.
Immediate surgery on his leg was necessary if we wanted to save it from amputation. Tommy was so malnourished that the surgery became difficult due to his brittle bones. The vet had to carefully screw down the plate to fix the break in his leg without shattering his bones.
The surgery took longer than expected, but the vet did a great job and fixed Tommy’s leg. The recovery was long, but Tommy was so happy once the cast came off, as were we. He was finally able to be the kitten he was born to be and do some of the things the other kittens were doing that he was having trouble doing with a cast on.
Tommy is now grown and such a wonderful loving boy. He has a tender personality which will make him a bit shy, but once you earn his trust you receive nothing but love.
