Mango
Mango was rescued as a very small kitten weighing under two pounds. She appeared one evening, most likely dumped, alone in a colony of sterilized cats that we monitor and feed daily. Shortly after arriving at the rescue Mango’s health began to decline.
It’s hard to know sometimes what’s attacking a kitten’s weak immune system, but since her fecal and blood showed no obvious reason for such decline, the vet suspected a possible virus such as panleukopenia. Since we have sadly had kittens with this virus many times before, we knew exactly what had to be done in order to save Mango’s life.
Our daily trips to the vet for monitoring and needed injections began, as well as our hospitalization care at the rescue. Within a couple weeks, Mango was eating on her own again. With each week Mango began to gain weight, get stronger and eat healthier.
Mango was a playful happy kitten once again and has gone on to be adopted to a family who adores her.
